These terms govern your use of Kiosc, the storefront platform. By creating a Kiosc account, running a store on Kiosc, or shopping at a store hosted on Kiosc, you agree to them.
1. What Kiosc is
Kiosc lets merchants build and run their own online store choosing a theme, listing products, and accepting payments through their own connected payment provider. Kiosc provides the platform; each store is independently owned and operated by the merchant running it. Kiosc is not a party to the sale between a merchant and their customer.
2. Merchant accounts and responsibilities
- You're responsible for the accuracy of your store's content product listings, prices, descriptions, and policies (shipping, returns, etc.) shown to your customers.
- You must have the legal right to sell whatever you list, and your store must comply with applicable law in the markets you sell to.
- You're responsible for fulfilling orders placed through your store and for handling customer service, refunds, and disputes related to your own sales Kiosc doesn't process these on your behalf.
- Keep your account credentials secure; you're responsible for activity under your account.
3. Payments
Kiosc never holds or processes the money your customers pay you. Each store's checkout runs through the merchant's own connected payment provider account (such as Paystack or Flutterwave) funds settle directly to the merchant, and Kiosc is not in that money-holding path at any point.
A Kiosc subscription plan, where applicable, is a separate charge from anything a customer pays a merchant it's what you pay Kiosc for use of the platform, billed to Kiosc's own payment account, on the cycle stated for your plan at the time you subscribe.
4. Plans, billing, and domains
- Paid plans bill on the cycle shown at checkout (currently every 3 months for Kiosc's paid tiers). You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from your dashboard; changes to what your plan includes take effect immediately.
- A downgrade that would put you over the limits of the lower plan (for example, more products, team members, or connected domains than the new plan allows) will be blocked until you bring usage within the new plan's limits.
- Where a plan includes a free domain registration, it's valid for the domain type(s) and term stated for that plan, claimed once per subscription. After that term, the domain renews at the standard renewal price shown for it.
- If a subscription payment fails and isn't resolved, your plan may move to a past-due state. This does not delete your store or disconnect a domain that's already live it limits provisioning of new plan-gated resources (like new custom domain connections) until it's resolved.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use Kiosc to:
- Sell anything illegal, or misrepresent what's actually being sold.
- Infringe someone else's intellectual property.
- Attempt to disrupt, abuse, or gain unauthorized access to the platform or another merchant's store.
- Use the platform in a way that's fraudulent toward customers or toward Kiosc.
Kiosc may suspend a store that violates these terms. Consistent with how we handle suspensions generally, this doesn't delete your data it takes your storefront offline until the issue is resolved.
6. Kiosc's role and limits
Kiosc provides the platform "as is." We work to keep it reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we're not responsible for disputes between a merchant and their customers, for the accuracy of a merchant's listings, or for a third-party payment provider's or registrar's own actions or outages.
7. Termination
You can stop using Kiosc at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for a serious or repeated violation of these terms. Where reasonably possible, we'll tell you why.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Meaningful changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page, and where a change is significant, we'll notify merchants directly.
